Your videos may already live on YouTube, Vimeo or Wistia. In this video you will keep them there, and control who watches them on your own site. You need the free MediaShield plugin. It takes about two minutes. There are three steps. Paste the video address. See it in your library. Then know what stays on the platform. Step one. Paste the video address. Open a video, and find Video Source. Video URL takes a YouTube or Vimeo address. MediaShield reads the address and fills Detected Platform for you. Step two. See it in your library. In Videos, the Platform column tells a YouTube video from one hosted on your own site. Each row has the same Protection column and Copy shortcode button, wherever the video is hosted. Step three. Know what stays on the platform. In Settings, Hide Video Source URL says it applies to self-hosted videos only. YouTube, Vimeo and Wistia players are embedded, and their address holds the provider's video ID. MediaShield controls who sees the player on your site. The platform still serves the video. That is all three. The video address pasted, the library read, and what stays on the platform understood. Your hosted videos now sit behind your own rules.
