Students quit when the player is awkward. In this video you will set speed and resume, match the player to your brand, choose a poster, add an end screen and an ad break, and decide on the Protected badge. You need the free MediaShield plugin. It takes about four minutes. There are six steps. Set the player controls. Match your brand colour. Choose the poster image. Show a message at the end. Add an ad break. Then show the Protected badge. Step one. Set the player controls. Open MediaShield, then Settings. The Player Controls card has Speed Control, Keyboard Shortcuts and Resume Playback. Resume Playback offers to continue where a student stopped. Prevent Skipping Ahead stops seeking past the furthest point watched. Sticky Player floats the video in a corner as they scroll. Step two. Match your brand colour. Brand Color sets the player buttons, focus outlines and the current playlist item. Use the theme color takes the colour from your theme in one click. Step three. Choose the poster image. In the video editor, the Featured image is the picture viewers see before the video plays. Pick an image that makes the video worth pressing play. Step four. Show a message at the end. End Screen shows a call to action when a video finishes, such as your next offer or the next lesson. Step five. Add an ad break. The Video Ads card has a master switch, Enable In-Video Ads, and Pre-roll plays one ad before the video. Mid-roll Count spaces breaks through the video. Skip Delay sets when the Skip button unlocks, and Require Full View removes it. Step six. Show the Protected badge. Show MediaShield Badge puts a small Protected by MediaShield badge on the player. Leave it off if you prefer a clean player. That is all six. Player controls set, your brand colour matched, a poster chosen, an end screen shown, an ad break added, and the badge decided. Watching a lesson is now easy and on brand. Next in this series: Turn videos into a course playlist.
