You cannot improve a lesson if you do not know who finishes it. In this video you will read views and completion, check one viewer, follow milestones, tag people who finish, and choose how long to keep history. You need the free MediaShield plugin. It takes about four minutes. There are five steps. Read the dashboard. See each viewer. Follow the milestones. Tag the people who finish. Then choose how long to keep history. Step one. Read the dashboard. Open MediaShield. Total videos, Total sessions, Average completion and Active viewers sit at the top. Top videos ranks your videos by views. The range list at the top right changes the period. Step two. See each viewer. In Viewers, every person has a row, with the videos they watched, their average completion, and when they were last active. Search by name finds one person, so you can help the one who is stuck. Step three. Follow the milestones. Milestones lists when a student reached twenty five, fifty, seventy five and a hundred percent of a video. Each row names the student, the video and the day. Previous and Next page through the list. Step four. Tag the people who finish. Tags are labels MediaShield gives a viewer at a milestone. Each tag shows its slug and how many videos use it. Add Tag makes a new one. Use the tags to follow up with the people who are engaged. Step five. Choose how long to keep history. In Settings, Analytics Retention has Keep watch history for, in months. Zero keeps every session, and that is the recommended setting. Set months only if a data policy asks for it. That is all five. The dashboard read, each viewer seen, milestones followed, finishers tagged, and watch history kept as long as you choose. You can now see who watches and finishes.
